Use Your Old Pants or Trousers to Generate Electricity to Charge your Phone

Do you live in regions where there is experience  of frequent power outage and you are incapacitated to access the net or spend so much fueling generator just to get your phone charged. Here is a Do it yourself Ecofriendly way of creating electricity to charge your Android, iPhone, and all sort of phones from using your trousers.

I do not claim to have created this but I found the step by step on the web - Instructible : KousheeKc, and as part of the purpose of this blog is to search for wealthy information from the internet that will help your daily life and improve the you.

This process comprises of Five steps:

Step 1: Basic

The basic idea is using electricity to charge something rechargeable. Then, the question comes, where to get the electricity?  So attach a motor in each knee joint area of the trousers and a motor in each thigh joint of the trousers. So that if you spin the motor's axle manually you get electricity from the wires attached to the motors and the electricity get stored in a battery and from the battery you can charge your electronic device by plugging it in.

Step 2: Materials

for this project you will be needing :
** 4 dc motors ( check from an old toys)
**1 rechargeable battery with its USB charger cable
**1 USB adapter (you can use an old wall adapter)
**some wire
**electronic device that you need to charge with its USB cable
**and obviously a pair of trousers (you can use some old trainers)
The cost of all this is very little

Step 3: The hinge for spinning the motor

Use a cardboard disk and attached another rectangular piece to it and attached it to the motor with a screw but you would want to attach the hinge after attaching the motor to the trousers. The rectangular piece of cardboard that goes for the knee joint should be slightly smaller than the one that goes for your thigh should be slightly smaller than your thigh.

Step 4: Attaching the motor to your trousers

First what you could do is check in exactly which areas your legs are bending mark those areas and make sure the disks attached to the motor are right on top of those areas. Also attach the motors to knee joints and to thigh joints.
Stitched the motors on but you could try some other ideas and stitch the rectangular piece of cardboard somewhere in the middle of the trouser waist.

Step 5: Circuit

The circuit is very simple the four motors will be attached to each other in parallel and the two ends will be connected to the USB charger of the battery. when the battery is fully charged you will have to unplug it and attach it to an USB adapter which will connect into your electronic device and  and boom it should start charging.

That's all you need to get your phone battery charged from your old used trousers.
